Evangelism Background
The religion of Jesus of Nazareth has
been evangelized by Christians preaching Gospel in individual and group
meetings for almost two millenniums ever since Jesus Christ’s “sermon on the
mount.” Ministers, missionaries and laymen alike have propagated the religion in person through churches, assemblies,
classrooms, homes and streets around the world. Telephone, radio and television
have been used since late 19th Century to proselytize people from
other religions and atheism to Christianity. Computer technological inventions
and advancements since 1950s have exponentially grown to where Personal Computers,
pads, tablets, mobile phones and wearable gadgets are now connecting people anytime
anywhere. Today the incredibly powerful multi-purpose “Smartphone” is in the hands
of billions of people everywhere. It is used as a phone, camera, video recorder,
currency exchange and communication device to find/hear/view/learn anything at anytime
from anywhere through the Internet.

2천년 동안 개인 및 단체 모임에서 기독교 인에 의하여 복음이 전파 되여 왔다. 목사님들과, 선교사님들 및 평신도님들이 모두 세계의 여러 교회, 집회, 교실, 집과 거리에서 실제 몸으로 종교를 전파해왔다.
19 세기 후반부터는 다른 종교와 무신론자들을 기독교로 개종시키기 위해 전화, 라디오와 텔레비전 등을 사용하여 왔다.
1950 년대 이후부터는 컴퓨터 기술의 발명과 발전이 기하 급수적으로 진보 함에 따라 이제는 개인용 컴퓨터 (PC), 패드 (Pad),
태블랱 (Tablet), 휴대 전화 (Mobile Phone) 및 착용 할 수 있는 장치 (Wearable Gadgets)는 이제 언제나 어디서나 사람들을 연결 한다. 오늘날에는 믿을 수 없을 만큼 강력한 다목적 “영리한 전화기”
(“Smartphone”)를 어디서나 수억의 사람들의 손에 가지고 있게 되였다. 그것은 전화, 카메라, 비디오 녹음기,
환전 및 통신 장치로 사용 되여 언제나 어디서나 인터넷을 통해서 무엇이든지 찾고/듣고/보고/배울 수 있게 되였다.
It is a perfect opportunity for churches
to effectively utilize the Internet and digital devices as a means to
evangelize Christianity throughout the world. These tools allow ministers, missionaries
and laymen to communicate with literally billions of people beyond the
boundaries of nations’ territories, political ideologies, religious
denominations and church buildings. Several churches and other religious
organizations in Korean, American and other communities have used the Internet for
evangelism in the past several years as reported in New York Hankuk Ilbo http://ny.koreatimes.com/article/900696 and shown in the Shelter Rock Church
website http://www.shelterrockchurch.com/category/exploregod/. Most
religious organizations, businesses, schools and governments all over the globe
use computers, pads, tablets, smartphones and wearable devices with varying
degrees of success. Churches should start using more of these wonderful devices
for the purpose of Christian evangelism.
이것은 교회가 세계에 기독교를 전파하는 수단으로 인터넷과 디지털 장치를 효과적으로 사용 할 수 있는 절호의 기회다. 이 도구들은 목사님들과 선교사님들 과 평신도들이 국가의 영토, 정치적 이념, 종교 교단과 교회 건물의 경계를 넘어서 문자 그대로 수십억의 사람들과 통신 할 수 있게 되였다.

미국과 다른 지역 사회의 여러 교회와 다른 종교 단체들이 지난 몇 년 동안 복음 전파를 위해 인터넷을 사용해왔다. 세계 각지에 있는 대부분의 종교 단체, 기업, 학교 및 정부들이 컴퓨터(PC), 패드(Pad), 태블랱(Tablet), 스마트 폰 (Smartphone) 및 착용 할 수 있는 장치들(Wearable
Gadgets)을 다양한 성공 율로 사용해 왔다. 교회들은 기독교 선교를 위하여 이러한 멋진 장치들을 더 많이 사용 해야 한다.
Education as a
Means of Evangelism
Additionally, in order to
supplement evangelism, churches should utilize these same tools to organize and
implement educational programs based on real life needs. They include English
language training, computer basics, navigating the Internet, health, laws,
business management and other important subjects desirable to Christians as
wells as non-Christians. They could be done locally and worldwide using the Internet
technologies readily available today. Online courses have been offered to
general public for years by educational institutions, religious organizations,
governments and businesses. Korean American newspaper JoongAng Ilbo has
recently started offering useful online courses at www.J-EduCenter.com as part of their public relations
and services campaign. Churches, large and small, should start similar educational
programs to reinforce their missions of spreading Christianity at much faster
rate around the world.
교육을 복음 전도의 수단으로
그뿐만 아니라,
선교를 보완하기 위해, 실생활에 필요한 교육 프로그램을 구성하고 구현하기 위하여 이 같은 도구를 교회가 이용해야 한다. 그런 교육 과정들은 기독교인이나 비 기독교인들에게도 필요로 하는 영어 교육, 컴퓨터 기초,
인터넷 탐색,
건강, 법률, 사업 관리 및 기타 중요한 주제들을 포함해야 된다.
이러한 과정들은 오늘날 쉽게 사용 할 수 있는 인터넷 기술을 사용하여 지역적으로나 세계적으로 수행 할 수 있다.
온라인 교육 과정들은 교육 기관,
종교 단체,
정부와 기업들이 일반 대중에게 수년 동안 제공해왔다. 한인 신문 중앙 일보 교육 센터(www.J-EduCenter.com)는 자신의 홍보 및 서비스 캠페인의 일환으로에 유용한 온라인 교육 과정을 최근에 제공하기 시작했다.
크고 작은 교회들은 전 세계의 기독교를 더 빠른 속도로 확산시키는 임무를 보강하기 위해 유사한 교육 프로그램들을 시작 해야 한다.
Evangelical
and Educational Program Financing
The costs of propagating
Christianity and education through the Internet are relatively inexpensive at
the beginning. The cost would increase as more sophisticated tools and techniques
are used. However, they could be made not only self-sustaining, but also more cost
effective than the traditional evangelical methods. The Church organized
educational programs could also be sufficiently financed by their subscribers,
advertisements, charitable organizations, corporations and/or governmental
agencies. An example could be seen in www.KhanAcademy.org, which is financially supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (www.gatesfoundation.org). If the Korean Community Services
“KCS” Center could recently receive $48,700 donation from Time Warner Cable
company for community computer education (http://www.koreatimes.com/article/921910), there is no reason why churches
couldn’t receive similar grants from the company and like-minded firms and
foundations.

인터넷을 통해 기독교와 교육을 전파하는 비용은 처음에는 비교적 저렴하다. 더 정교한 도구와 기술을 사용하게 되면 비용은 증가 할 것이다. 그러나 이러한 교육방식은 재정적으로 자립 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 비용을 기존 방법보다 더 효과적으로 복음을 전파 할 수 있다. 교회가 조직한
교육 프로그램 비용은 또한 가입자 들과, 광고, 자선 단체, 회사 및 또는 정부 기관에 의해 충분히
충당 할 수 있다. 예를 들면 칸 아카데미(www.KhanAcademy.org)는 빌
과 멜린다 게이츠 재단 (www.GatesFoundation.org)으로부터 재정적으로 지원을 받고 있다.
뉴욕 한인 봉사 센터
(Korean Community Service “KCS” Center)가 타임 원어 케이블 (Time
Warner Cable) 사로부터 커뮤니티 컴퓨터 교육 센터를 위하여 $48,700 기부를(http://www.koreatimes.com/article/921910) 최근에 받을 수 있었다면 교회들도 그 회사와 비슷한 생각을
가지고 있는 회사들과 재단으로부터 비슷한 기부를 못 받을 이유가 업다.
With the hardware and software
technologies readily available today, religious sermons, other worthy Christian
activities and educational courses could be viewed and listened by anyone at any
time from any place on their own PCs, pads, tablets, smartphones and other wearable
gadgets. The sooner they are accomplished, the better for the expansion of
Christianity. Proposed below are some specific plans and steps to that end.
오늘날 쉽게 사용 할 수 있는 하드웨어 (hardware) 및 소프트웨어
(software) 기술을 이용하여, 종교적 설교, 다른 가치 있는 기독교 활동과 교육 과정들을 자신들의 개인용 컴퓨터 (PC),
패드 (Pad), 태블랱 (Tablet), 스마트 폰 (Smartphone) 및 기타 착용 할 수 있는 기기를 통해 아무 때나 어디서든지 어느 누구라도 보고 들을 수 있다.
이러한 것들이 빨리 성취 되면 될수록 기독교의 확장에 더더구나 좋을 것이다.
이를 위하여 아래에 몇 가지 구체적인 계획 과 단계를 제안 한다.
A.
Internetize Evangelism
복음 전도를 인터넽 화하자
1.
If they are not done already, upload and update sermons,
worthwhile religious and training activities free of charge to www.YouTube.com, church websites and other media available on the Internet.
2.
Evaluate,
try out free and choose one or two of the Internet communication/teleconferencing
software out of those available in the market (e.g. www.GoToMeeting.com, www.webex.com, www.LogMeIn.com, www.TeamViewer.com, www.Skype.com, www.BlueJeans.com and etc.). The cost of the most expensive
ones is less than $100/Month for 200 participants, whereas that of others is
either free or paid only for phone calls by online attendees. If the
participants could use Internet phones or hear and see the presentations directly
from their own devices, they don’t even have to pay for any phone calls. They allow anyone not only to hear, see and
interactively participate in the meetings at the same time. Additionally, the
sessions could be recorded and replayed by anyone anytime from anywhere in the
world. It would be very much like watching what is in www.YouTube.com at no cost.
시장에 존재 하는 인터넽 통신/원격회의 소프트웨어들을
(예 www.GoToMeeting.com, www.webex.com, www.LogMeIn.com, www.FreeConferenceCall.com, www.TeamViewer.com, www.Skype.com, www.BlueJeans.com 과 등등) 무료로 평가하고 실험하여 그 중에 한두 가지를 선택해야 한다.
그 중 가장 비싼 것은 그 비용이200명 참가자용으로 매월
$100 미만이고, 다른 것들의 비용은 무료든지 온라인 참가자가 전화 요금만을 부담하게 되여 있다. 만일 참가자들이 인터넽 전화나 그들 자신의 기기에서 직접 듣고 볼 수 있다면 전화 사용료 조차도 낼 필요가 없다. 그것들은 아무라도 동시에 듣고 보고 대화에 참여 할 수 있게 한다. 그뿐만 아니라 그 회의들을 기록하여 세계에 어느 곳에서나 아무라도 언제든지 재생 할 수

Create session links (i.e. URL Universal Resource
Locator) to and from such traditional media as Televisions, Radios, Newspapers,
Magazines and periodicals.
텔레비전, 라디오, 신문과 정기 간행물 등등 전통적인 미디어와
서로 가고 오는 회의 활동 연결 고리 (예: URL 보편적인 자원 위치)를 만들어야 한다.
4.
Register
a domain name (e.g. www.iEvangelists.com) through an Internet Domain Name
Service Provider (e.g. www.GoDaddy.com) at a cost of about $20 per year.
Setup blogs with that domain or church domain names through www.Blogger.com at no charge or www.WordPress.com at a nominal charge, and post
sermons and any other worthwhile activities there.
인터넽 영역 이름 서비스 제공자 (예 www.GoDaddy.com) 를 통하여 영역 이름 (예 www.iEvangeslists.com) 을 1년에 약 $20 정도의 비용으로 등록 하여야 한다. 그 영역이나 교회 영역 이름을 이용하여 무료로 www.Blogger.com 이나 약간의 비용을 드려서 www.WordPress.com 에 블로그 들을 설치하여 그곳에 설교와 다른 가치 있는 활동들을 계시 해야 한다.
5.
Establish
accounts with popular social media (e.g. www.Facebook.com, www.LinkedIn.com, www.Twitter.com, www.Instagram.com), link them to the blogs (e.g. www.KorAmeNews.com and http://www.toptensocialmedia.com/social-media-social-buzz/the-ten-best-christian-blogs-in-2014/) for the purpose of propagating Gospel.
Setup links there to make as many people as possible to “Like” them. It thereby
enables those links to automatically appear on their social media utilized on
the users’ own handy electronic devices (e.g. PC, pad, tablet and smartphone).
복음을 전파하기 위하여 인기 있는 소셜미디어에 (예 www.Facebook.com, www.LinkedIn.com, www.Twitter.com, www.Instagram.com) 계좌를 설정 하고 그 블로그들에 (예 www.KorAmeNews.com, http://www.toptensocialmedia.com/social-media-social-buzz/the-ten-best-christian-blogs-in-2014/) 연결 시켜야 한다. 그곳에 연결을 설정하여 가능 한한 많은 사람들이 그것들을 “좋아하게” (“Like”) 해야 한다. 그러면 그 연결이 사용자 자신의 편리한 전자 장치 (예: PC,
Pad, Tablet 와 Smartphone)에 사용되는 그들의 소셜 미디어에 자동적으로 뜨게
된다.
B.
Local and Online Educational
Programs
지역 과 온라인 교육 과정
1.
Organize
and record several regularly scheduled training programs on such subjects as
English, computer basics, Internet navigation, health, business, laws and any
other worthwhile subjects to educate people and support the evangelism. People
would come to church or join the online training to learn what they really need
free of charge, especially if the courses are conveniently scheduled for
participants. If some people could not attend, they should always be allowed to
replay the recorded educational sessions from the church websites at their
convenient time and location.
사람들을 교육시키고 선교를 보충하기 위하여 영어, 컴퓨터 기초, 인터넽 탐색, 건강, 사업, 법률과 그밖에 가치 있는 제목들을 정규적으로 가르치는 프로그램을 설정하고 기록해야 한다. 사람들은 무료로 자기들이 꼭 필요로 하는 것을 배울 수 있다면 교회로 오든지 온라인 교육에 참가 할 것이다, 특히 그 교육 과정이 참가자들에게 편리한 시간에 예정 되여 있다면 말이다. 만일 어떤 분들이 참석 할 수 없다면 그분들은 언제라도 편리한 시간과 장소에서 교회 웹 사이트에서 기록된 교육 세션을 재생 할 수 있게 하여야 한다.

These
educational programs could be organized and planned to take place before
Wednesday and Friday night services, for example 7 pm to 8 pm before worship
services starting at 8:30 pm. If desirable, they should be expanded to schedule
them, regularly or as needed basis, shortly after weekday early-morning prayer
and/or Sunday worship services. If people could stay a little longer before or
after the services, it would be great for them to take advantage of their
useful learning because they are there anyway. Churches should invite
non-Christians to the offline or online training sessions and worship services
through their own members, advertisements and social media. Some people might
come to Church primarily for that education and possibly join the Church, it is
really wonderful for both the Church and the attendees. If this is not
evangelistic and missionary work, what is?
이 교육 프로그램들은 수요일과 금요일 예배 시간 전에 조직되고 예정되면 된다, 예를 들면 저녁 8시 30분에 예배가 시작하기 전에 7시부터 8시까지. 만일 바람 직 하다면 이 과정들은, 정기적으로나 필요에 따라서, 주중 새벽 기도회 후나 주일 예배 후에 까지 확장하여 계획 하여야 한다. 사람들이 예배를 보기 전에나 후에 조금 더 남아 있을 수 있다면 그 분들은 이미 그곳에 와 있으니 그들의 유용한 학습을 활용하는
것이 대단히 좋을 것이다. 교회들은 자기네 교인들이나
광고나 소셜 미디어 (Social Media) 를 통하여 비 기독교인들을 오프라인
(Offline) 또는 온라인 (Online) 교육 과정과 예배에 초청해야 한다. 어떤 분들은 그 교육을 주 목적으로 참석 했다가 가령 교회에 가입한다면 교회와
참석자 모두에게 정말 멋진 일이다. 만일 이것이 전도와 선교사업이 아니라면 무엇인가?

To
accomplish these objectives, locate and solicit capable volunteers and/or paid
specialists of various educational subjects. It is necessary to find at least a
few instructors on each subject to cover for each other in the event the
instructor is out sick or on vacation or cannot make it to the class for one
reason or another. There are many experts and professionals available who are
willing to volunteer to teach as part of their individuals’ or companies’
business promotional marketing efforts.
이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해서는 여러 가지 교육 제목에 유능한 지원자나 유료 전문가들을 찼고 구해야 한다. 강사가 아프거나 휴가를 가거나 또는 다른 이유로 강의실에 못나올 경우에 대비하여 각 주제에 최소한 몇 명의 강사를 찾을 필요가 있다. 개인이나 회사의 사업 홍보 마케팅 (marketing) 활동의 일환으로 자원해서 가르치려고 하는 전문가 와 직업인들이 많이 있다.

When
these trainings are available locally as well as online, they would help create
the church membership growth in and out of church buildings, (i.e. Evangelism).
There is no need to worry about the local church cannibalism from the
standpoint of Christianity as a whole so long as the trainees become Christians
wherever they are. However, most people prefer to seeing and hearing directly, as
opposed to viewing online, Pastors’ sermons.
이러한 교육이 가능한 지역 적으로뿐만 아니라 온라인으로 있을 경우, 그 과정들은 교회 건물 안 박으로 교회 회원 증강을 만드는데 도움이 될 것이다 (즉, 전도). 기독교 전체 입장에서 볼 때에는 교육받은 사람들이 어느 곳에 있든지 기독교인이 된다면 지역 교회 회원이 빠진다 해도 걱정할 것은 없다.
하지만, 대부분의 사람들은 목사님들의 설교를 온라인으로 보기 보다는 직접 보고 듣는 것을 선호한다.
C.
Funding for Evangelical and
Educational Programs
복음 전도와 교육 과정을 위한 자금 조달
1.
Churches
could always ask for voluntary contributions to the Christian and educational program
supporters and benefiting subscribers.
교회들은 이 기독교와 교육 프로그램 후원자들과 혜택을 받는 가입자들에게 자발적 기부금을 언제라도 부탁 할 수 있다.
2.
The
religious organizations could always solicit and place paid advertisements on
their websites, blogs and wherever else they publicize Christianity and educational
programs.
종교 단체들은 어느 때라도 웹 사이트, 블로그 그 밖에 기독교와 교육 과정을 홍보 하는 곳에 유료 광고를 간청하고 개제 할 수 있다.
3.
They
could also request donations and grants to charity organizations, businesses
and government agencies to support, sustain and expand the educational programs
for common good.
그 단체들은 또한 자선 단체나 사업체와 정부 기관에 공익을 위한 그 교육 과정을 후원하고, 유지하고 확장 할 수 있도록 기부금 과 보조금을 요청할 수 있다.
4.
In
order to make these payments/donations/grants easy for them, set up bank accounts
to credit online directly to various designated accounts by Credit/Debit Cards,
PayPal, ApplePay, Samsung Pay, Google Wallet or any other payment methods.
그들에게 이러한 기부 / 결제 / 기부 / 보조금 쉽게 할 수 있게 하기 위하여, 신용 / 직불 카드 (Credit/Debit Card), 페이팔 (PayPal), 애풀 지불
(ApplePay),
삼성 지불 (Samsung Pay), 구글 지갑 (Google
Wallet) 또는 어떤 다른 지불 방법으로 든 지 직접 지불 할 수 있도록 지정된 은행 계좌를 설정 하여야 한다.
D.
Infrastructural Change and
Groundwork
하부 구조 변경과 기초 작업
1.
Make
all documents and materials bilingual, Korean and English, so that ALL
generations of Koreans and Americans could understand and follow. The language
translations should be done either line by line, paragraph by paragraph, and/or
side by side for easier recognition.
한인과 미국인 모든 세대들이 이해하고 따를 수 있도록 하기 위하여 모든 서류와 자료들을 한국어와 영어 이중 언어로 만들어야 한다. 이 언어 번역은 쉽게 인식 할 수 있게 하기 위하여
일렬 이나, 일 구절이나 및 / 또는 측면으로 해야 한다.
2.
In
order to sustain and expand both evangelical and educational programs proposed
above, it is essential and necessary to have appropriate computerized systems
in place. It is because those YouTube, websites and social media are not only dormant
and useless but also do nothing unless people intentionally search for
something of their interests and/or they are periodically reminded of the
programs.
위에 제안한 복음과 교육 과정을 유지하고 확장하기 위해서는 적합한 컴퓨터 시스템을 설치 하는 것이 필수 적이고 필요하다.
왜냐하면 그 유튜브, 웹 사이트 및 소셜 미디어는 사람들이 자신에게 관심 있는 것을 의도적으로 검색하거나 또는 때때로 그 프로그램들을 생각 나게 하지 않으면 잠자는 상태이고 무용 지물일 뿐만 아니라 아무 것도 하지 않고 있기 때문이다.

In
terms of hardware, churches could easily start with one PC they have already.
If churches have enough funds, they could set up a Local Area Network (LAN)
Server computer system and linked PCs with Wireless Router connected to
Internet. It should have an external hard disk and subscribe to Cloud services
for data backup/restore purposes.
하드웨어 (hardware)의 측면에서, 교회들은 이미 소유하고 있는 개인용 컴퓨터 (PC)
한대를 가지고 쉽게 시작 할 수 있다. 교회가 자금 여유가 있다면, 국부 영역 회로망 서버 (Local
Area Network “LAN” Server) 컴퓨터 시스템과 인터넷에 연결되어 있는 무선 라우터 (Wireless Router)에 연결된 개인용 컴퓨터(PC)들을 설치해야 한다. 데이터 백업
/ 복원
(data backup/restore) 목적으로 외장 하드 디스크가 (external
hard disk) 있어야 하고 구름 (Cloud) 서비스 (구름 서비스는 클라우드 컴퓨팅 제공 업체의 서버에 데이터를 저장하여 인터넷을 통해 무선으로 필요에 따라 사용자가 항상 업데이트 (update) 하고 사용하게 하는 서비스) 에 가입해야 한다.
4.
In
software any church could start with the installation of inexpensive Microsoft
Office 365 (Access, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publishing and Word)
costing less than $200, if not there using already. Of the Microsoft Office 365
programs, Outlook is an outstanding software for contact information management
and email services. That is why most companies use Outlook for those purposes. For
less than $10/Month, the entire MS Office 365 data could be wirelessly backed
up constantly in Microsoft Cloud which allows to automatically restore them to
a new PC, LAN Server and/or Smartphones in case they are damaged or lost.
이미 사용하지 않고 있다면 소프트웨어에 관해서는 어떤 교회든지 200 달러 미만의 비용으로 저렴한 마이크로 소프트 오피스 (Office) 365
(Access, Excel, OneNote,
Outlook, PowerPoint, Publishing and Word) 를 설치하여 시작할 수 있다. 마이크로 소프트 오피스 365 프로그램 중에서 아웃럭 (Outlook) 은 연락처 정보 관리 및 이 메일 서비스를 위한 뛰어 난 소프트웨어이다. 그래서 대부분 회사들이 그런 목적으로 사용하고 있는 이유다. 월 10달러 미만의 비용으로, 전체 마이크로 소프트 오피스 365 데이터는 무선으로 마이크로 소프트 클라우드 (Microsoft Cloud)에 지속적으로 백업하여 PC 와 LAN 서버 및 / 또는 스마트 폰 이 손상 되거나 유실 된 경우에 새로운 장치로 자동으로 복원 할 수 있다.

If
Microsoft Office 365 is not good enough, churches could upgrade later to a church
management system and/or to a more comprehensive CRM (Customer Relationship
Management) software.
만일 마이크로 소프트 오피스 365가 충분하지 않은 경우에는, 교회는 교회 관리 시스템 및/또는 보다 포괄적인 고객 관계 관리 (Customer Relationship
Management “CRM”) 소프트웨어로 나중에 업그레이드 할 수 있다.
6.
Create
and maintain a comprehensive database of elements such as Name, Home Address,
Email Addresses, Home/Office/Mobile Phone Numbers, business/job information,
position/job titles, groups, interests, contributions, activities, and etc. of
church members and prospects. They should be categorized in such a way to be

Otherwise, they will either never get off the ground or discontinued in
mid-stream. Internetizing Christianity and education is not the question of if,
but when they will be done. If that were the case, it is far better to start them
early than later.
달성 가능한 현실적인 이상
